New Delhi: The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) on Wednesday said that the office stands by the order of banning former Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chief G Madhavan Nair from government jobs.

There was a committee set up under former CVC Pratyush Sinha and the committee has given the report on the controversial Antrix-Devas deal.

On the basis of this report the government has taken the decision of banning Madhavan from future jobs, said sources.

Sources said there is no witch hunting as claimed by Nair. The Department of Space (DoS) will issue a clarification.

Former scientific secretary at ISRO K Bhaskaranarayana met Nair at his residence in Bangalore on Wednesday following the row.

In an unprecedented disciplinary action, four of the biggest names in the space community were barred from occupying any government position - current or in future - for their role in the Antrix-Devas deal, in which a private company was accused to have been wrongfully allotted S-band frequencies for radio waves.
