New Delhi: In a rare display of raw emotion at Rashtrapati Bhawan on Wednesday, Lance Naik Jyotish Prakash’s widow cried inconsolably as a Shaurya Chakra (posthumous) citation was being read out for the fallen hero.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's wife Gursharan Kaur and Defence Minister AK Antony were also moved to tears.

Seema Singh, the widow of Lance Naik Jyotish Prakash who died fighting terrorists in Jammu, broke down and was inconsolable till the time she was taken out of the room.

Lance Naik Jyotish Prakash had raided the terrorist' den and single-handedly killed two of them before being gunned down.

And as President Pratibha Patil made an exception and walked down to hand over the award, Seema was still inconsolable.

Anthony was also seen wiping his tears and next to him, Gursharan brought out her handkerchief to wipe away the tears.

In all three Kirti Chakras and 20 Shaurya Chakras were awarded in the evening. But a sobbing Seema Singh will remain etched in the memory of every one who attended the ceremony.
