Mumbai: The Mumbai Police have finally reacted to CNN-IBN exclusive report on the conspiracy behind the July 11 Mumbai train bombings.
Mumbai police commissioner A N Roy has now confirmed the involvement of a foreign hand in serial explosions that killed 200 people and injured nearly 700.
On Thursday, CNN-IBN revealed for the first time the role of al-Qaeda in the bombings - something which the Mumbai Police now say can't be ruled out.
However, they are tightlipped about the specifics.
"It is clear that there was the involvement of foreign hands. But the specifics can't be revealed at this stage. All these terror outfits are closely linked,” said Roy.
In fact it was only after this exclusive report that the Mumbai Police, for the first time, also accepted the role of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba in the bombings.
"LeT was the organisation which was responsible for executing the 7/11 bombing," said Roy.
While al-Qaeda funded the terror master plan, Lashkar modules and foot soldiers from Students Islamic Movement of India executed it to a deadly perfection.
The fact that 7/11 blasts case has been cracked is no longer a secret.
What is really awaited is the official declaration - something that will justify the stand taken by the exclusive revelations by CNN-IBN.
