New Delhi: Police released the sketches of the two men suspected to be behind the deadly blasts in the Samjhauta Express on Tuesday.

The sketches were made after questioning nearly 30 people and the hunt is now well and truly on to track down the men who planted suitcases filled with kerosene bottled and timers in five compartments.

The close-circuit TV footage at old Delhi railway station is also being analysed and about 100 suspicious mobile calls that were made are being checked.

“The first man was plump, about 35 years old. He had a wheatish complexion. The second man was around 26 years old,” says Inspector General, Rohtak Range, Sharad Kumar

Investigating officials now say that there were some indications in the last six months that a public transport system might come under attack.

According to initial leads, three Lashkar-e-toiba sleeper cells were activated in three different cities - Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata.

The group from Kolkata had two men from Bangladesh who were trained to make various bombs.

“Highly-placed government sources also claim that such a meticulous operation can only be planned in collaboration with foreign intelligence agencies. The target is the usual suspect - Pakistan's ISI,” says Kumar.

In fact with lacklustre security checks that happen, it's not a very difficult task to make and then plant a liquid bomb.
