Polish couple goes missing in Karnataka

Mandya: A Polish couple has gone missing after setting out on a boat ride in Cauvery river from Tamil Nadu towards Karnataka, police in Mandya said.

According to a complaint lodged with police by S Jayaprabha, Manager of a private company at Hosur, his colleague Ian Turton and his wife had embarked on a boat ride from Denkanikote in Tamil Nadu to Muthathi in Karnataka on May 19.

The couple maintained contact with him on mobile and internet till Monday after which there was no further communication, he said.

Mandya District Superintendent of Police Koushalendra Kumar, who visited Muthathi along with top police officials, said a search is on for the missing couple.
