Politicos get into ABC of Varun's Z-security

New Delhi: Does Varun Gandhi deserve more security? It’s a question thats become a flash point between the BJP and the Congress.

BJP leader Sushma Swaraj met the Home Minister on Thursday demanding more security for Varun but she returned dissatisfied.

"I met the Home Minister but I am not satisfied with the response of Mr Chidambram on Varun's security,” Swaraj said.

Varun has been demanding a heightened security cover after the arrest of Rashid Malabari, a sharp shooter of don Chhota Shakeel gang allegedly out to kill Varun.

As of now, Varun's official security falls under Y category. But in reality, he gets security that’s equivalent to Z-plus category. That entitles him to 3 PSOs, 10 guards, two escort vehicles.

The trouble is that this security arrangement is applicable only when he is in Delhi. When he travels out, he doesn’t get the same heightened security cover.

Varun's mother, Maneka Gandhi had even shot of a letter to the PM demanding a review of his security

Within the BJP, there are many who felt that Varun was responsible for the Party's defeat. Even on his security woes, the BJP is a party split apart.
