Kolkata: Trinamool Chief Mamata Banerjee has accused West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee of genocide in Nandigram.

Based on a report prepared by her core team, the firebrand Bengal leader is drawing up a strategy to take on the besieged Bhattacharjee and has demanded his resignation.

``This kind of government should be sacked,” said Mamata.

The report prepared by her core team, she believes, is enough to nail every “land acquisition lie” of the Bengal government.

Mamata says her approach to industrialisation would have been different.

``We are not against industrialisation, we are very much in its favour. Agriculture is a gold mine, we should have done agri industries,” she said.

Her 25-day fast appeared to have paid rich dividends. It was during this fast that her alliance with the Left radicals was sealed.

Now she has musicians and intellectuals by her side. They have come out on the streets to support her.

The success of the bandh came as a major boost due to a rising empathy for those who suffered in Nandigram, even in Kolkata.

Mamata Banerjee does not believe it is only a political movement. “Its' a mass movement,” she said.

The Trinamool leader, once known for her firebrand speeches, has quietly crept back to a position of political authority.

After a disappointing electoral show one year ago, she sees herself as supporting a just and widely acceptable cause. Her political strides are becoming more definite by the day.
