New Delhi: The Delhi Police Crime Branch on Sunday took SS Namdhari, an accused in the Ponty-Hardeep double murder case, to his residence in Bazpur, Uttarakhand to search for the weapon with which he admitted to having fired at Hardeep. Namdhari, the former chief of Uttarakhand Minority Commission, was a close aide of Ponty.
On Saturday, Namdhari was arrested on charges of trespassing on Ponty's property after the shootout. He was produced in court and prosecution said that he admitted to having shot at Hardeep during the alleged scuffle between the brothers. He was charged with attempt to murder.
Namdhari will also be taken to areas around Bazpur and the neighbouring state of Uttar Pradesh, said police.
