New York: If you loved Titanic and want to get that sinking feeling again, Poseidon is here.

The premiere of action adventure disaster film Poseidon, brought the Tribeca International Film Festival to a close in New York this Saturday.

A remake of the 70's cult film The Poseidon Adventures, the film tracks a luxury cruise which capsizes after being hit by a wave in the North Atlantic Ocean.

A few lucky survivors find themselves unlikely allies in their struggle for survival and try to find their way out from the hull to the surface.

Says Wolfgang Petersen, director, "It was very hard. I mean, I think it is the hardest film I've ever done. The most difficult film to do physically. I think more than Perfect Storm because Perfect Storm had pretty trained good guys on a fishing boat. Here these were like normal people."

And all that underwater action sure took its toll too.

Says actor Kurt Russell, "We all had our ordeal. Josh spilt his eye open. Actually, I split Josh's eye open with my flashlight accidentally. Everybody would get sick or everybody would get hurt. When you do these movies, that is just going to happen. My problem was I got pneumonia."

The big-budget ocean adventure opens in the North American theatres on May 12th.
