Bangalore: The blasts in Bangalore may not have been as destructive as the ones that ripped through Ahmedabad the very next day, but it has left telling imprints on the minds of those who were caught in the middle.

Most people injured during the serial blasts in Bangalore have almost recovered. However, one person - at the St John's hospital, faces a tough battle ahead.

At the general ward of the hospital, Muniraju stares into space. His blood-shot eyes trying to see what the future holds. He's just 29, married less than a year, and is expecting a child soon. He's a goldsmith whose trade requires him to have a good grip, a good foothold and good sight. However, life will never be the same again.

“Whether the terrorists have achieved what they want, I don't know. I only know it is hardworking labourers like us who are left to suffer. How am I going to go about my work, raise a family. I can't live in peace,” says G Muniraju who was injured in serial blasts.

He has a steel plate stitched to the inside of his mouth and it is certainly difficult for Muniraju to speak or eat.

Meanwhile, his family is keen to take him home. “It is scary now. Not just for him or us, but for everyone. My son had left home and he was just going on the road. The next we saw him was in hospital. We are all very scared,” says Muniraju's father, S Gopal.

Physically, he may be well soon, but it will take long for Muniraju to recover from the trauma of becoming terror's unsuspecting victim.
