PUDUCHERRY: For the first time after cyclone Thane wreaked havoc on the Botanical Gardens here, the toy train, a popular attraction at the tourist hotspot, is all set to chug again. Last year, huge trees uprooted by the cyclone fell on the tracks of the toy train.
As a result, the service, a hit especially among children, was halted for the last four months. Now, with the work of clearing the  cyclone debris from the Botanical Gardens, a picnic spot during the summer, almost getting over, the toy train is all set to chug again shortly.
According to a source, the train would be operated without the signal system, which went haywire during the cyclone. The railways has been requested to render assistance to repair the signals. The train would have three bogeys with a passenger capacity of 60 and would chug on the 1.4 km track.
