THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Golf Links Road in Kowdiar has been in a shambles for the past several years. The road is in a totally dilapidated condition ever since the JICA-assisted water works began in the area. The residents say that they have been enduring the trouble for the past three years.
Both sides of the road were dug up for JICA-assisted water works. Dr Sabarisree, a resident of the area, said: “The road is totally dilapidated. Before every monsoon, the authorities would enact a drama by unloading some materials for road repair. But nothing will happen. Commuters are a facing lot of trouble.”
The residents have filed several complaints with the Corporation and PWD. However, the situation remains the same. The narrow road has numerous potholes on either sides formed as a result of the JICA works.
The residents are demanding immediate renovation works before the onset of the monsoon.
