The three-day power holiday imposed on the industry by the Central Power Distribution Company Ltd (CPCDL) will effectively result in 70 percent power cut a week, as against 40 percent in the past, according to the industry-body Fapcci.
The power cut could severely impact operations of companies and even lead to their closure, it said. As per the AP Electricity Regulatory Commission’s (APERC) restrictions & control (R&C) measures, effective from September 12, the industry was to draw only 60 percent quota of the total entitled power supply.
