Directed by Seeman, 'Valthukkal' stars Madhavan and Bhavna in the leads. The film dubbed into Telugu will be released as 'Prema Nilayam' in September, by SV Maheshwara Reddy. The film will see director Venkat Prabhu in a comedy role. Ajith has played a cameo.

The makers say that the film discusses the conflicting pulls and demands of love and family. Deriving its strength from sentiment, this family and romantic drama is on the lines of 'Bommarillu' yet different in narration. Yuvan Shankar Raja is the musician.

The audio released recently is getting good response. Co-producer Bharathi Ganesh said, "We are sure that this film which was a hit in the Tamil audience will be liked by the Telugus as well."
