New Delhi: President APJ Abdul Kalam has been voted the biggest icon in Tamil Nadu, with over 19 per cent people in a CNN-IBN survey picking him as their choicest person to look up to.
In a weeklong Internet survey, in which over 1,000 people took part, Kalam emerged as the topmost choice followed closely by Tamil superstar Rajnikanth and music director AR Rahman -- both of whom got 18 per cent votes.
In fact, it was a neck-and-neck battle among Kalam, Rahman and Rajnikanth -- clearly reflecting a wide spectrum of audience who took part in the survey.
At third spot was cancer specialist and Magsasay Award winner V Shantha with 16 per cent votes, while the fourth spot was shared by filmmaker Kamal Hassan chess Grand Master Vishwanathan Anand.
The results of the survey were announced on the CNN-IBN prime time on Sunday evening.
