New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh underwent a surgery for cataract removal in the left eye at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here early Sunday morning.
The Prime Minister underwent "an intra-ocular lens implantation after a brief surgical procedure" at the Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences at AIIMS.
The Prime Minister has since returned home. The doctors said he can resume his normal work from Monday, according to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office.
Manmohan Singh, 75, had undergone a successful cataract operation in his right eye May 25.
The Prime Minister has been visiting the AIIMS since 2006 for eye check-ups.
