New Delhi: A Rajya Sabha member on Saturday gave a notice to its Chairman for initiating privilege proceedings against noted actor Om Puri for allegedly decrying MPs while making a speech at the Ramlila Maidan on Friday.
"A privilege motion notice has been given to the Chairman of Rajya Sabha by Ram Gopal Yadav (SP) and supported by lot many members of political parties," Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Rajeev Shukla told reporters outside Parliament.
He said members of most of the political parties raised this issue and demanded action against Om Puri and the Chairman will take a decision on the motion on Monday.
Puri had visited Ramlila ground to extend his support to Anna Hazare for a strong Lokpal.
