Probe into PFI role in hate SMS

ADGP (Intelligence) T P Senkumar has been assigned to investigate reports that the Popular Front of India (PFI), along with the Harkat-ul-Jehad al Islami (HuJI), was also involved in spreading hate SMS and e-mails which triggered panic among the

people of North-East and caused their exodus from South India, Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan told reporters here on Tuesday.

“The Central Intelligence Bureau has not communicated to the state about any such reports,” he said.

He declined to comment whether the state intelligence wing has submitted similar reports.

The role of Kerala-based PFI and Bangladesh-based HuJI in spreading the inflamatory SMS was revealed in a report by the National Technical Research Organisation and Computer Emergency Responsive Team India to the Union Home Ministry on Tuesday. ENS More: P5
