Kolkata: In a relief for athlete Pinki Pramanik, the Calcutta High court has ordered a probe into the alleged violation of her rights. The court has asked cyber crime experts to probe the rights violation.
The court has also asked the government to file an affidavit against the allegations of the rights violation within two weeks.
The Calcutta High Court was hearing a PIL filed against the violation of Pinki Pramanik's rights. The PIL filed by RS Chattopadhyay was against still keeping her in police custody.
On Tuesday, the West Bengal Human Rights Commission ordered a probe into the allegations of human right violations of the athlete and sought a report within a week from the state police chief and the state home secretary.
Pinki Pramanik has been accused of being a male and raping her former partner and is currently in judicial custody.
