The Government Model Engineering College, Thrikkakara, is all set for TEDxMEC 2012, a platform for the best in the field of technology, entertainment and design to showcase their inspiring and innovative ideas on September 27.
It will be held at the college amphitheatre from 5 pm.
TEDxMEC aims to motivate students to think big and different, and to follow one’s passion for the betterment of themselves and society. It features riveting talks of people - from social reformers to new-gen innovators.
Santosh Hegde, Lokayukta of Karnataka and former Supreme Court Chief Justice, who is actively involved in the tussle towards a corruption-free nation will speak on the values the Indian youth should uphold.
Bass guitarist Jayen Varma and world record bearer who innovated the idea of ‘Indian Slap Bass’ - applying tabla movements on bass guitar will perform this new style.
Dhimant Vyas, a name to reckon with among the creative animation film directors of India, known for his work in the acclaimed movie ‘Taare Zameen Par’ will create a new world of art and animation at TEDxMEC 2012. Sreelakshmi Suresh considered as the world’s youngest CEO and web designer, will narrate her experiences proving that age is no barrier to the heights one can conquer.
TEDxMEC 2012 introduces ‘Teen Speaker Hunt’ - the quest for a vibrant teenager with an inspiring tale to share. The winner to be announced on September 22 can share the stage with the other speakers and talk on a potent idea.
