DAVANGERE: A II PU student of the city secured the first rank in All India Law Entrance Test(AILET) exams that was held in Bangalore on May 6.
There are 55 seats available and candidates are chosen from across the country, for which 3,000 students appeared.
Ashwiz S Ramaiah, a student of Vaishnavi Chethana PU college could not believe his ears when he received a phone call from office of the Vice-chancellor of National Law University in New Delhi. For the first time, someone from Davangere had bagged the first position in AILET.
“I was expecting a rank within 20. I never expected that I will secure the first position. I was overjoyed and even my parents are happy,” Ashwiz told Express on Saturday.He revealed that he was inspired by his cousin Amrutha, who is a legal adviser to United States President Barack Obama at Washington.
“My son has been a bright student from childhood and he had scored 97.6 percent in CBSE X standard and was awarded gold medal from Taralabalu school here,” said his father Suresh, a civil engineer.
