Pune: In a shocking case, a 15-year-old schoolboy was reportedly murdered by three of his friends in Pune on Sunday. One of the accused trio was a classmate of the boy.
Shubham Shirke was allegedly kidnapped and later murdered for a ransom of Rs 50,000, a part of which was reportedly already paid by the parents.
When Shubham did not return home even after the ransom was paid, the parents said they approached the police.
The police picked up the classmate for questioning and he confessed to the crime. The police say that the three were inspired by some shows they had watched on TV.
The three children said they had planned the kidnapping, so that they could have fun with the ransom money.
Shubham was a student of the Priyadarshani English medium school in Bhosari area of Pune and had appeared for his class 10 exams this year.
