Pune: The organisers of the pop sensation Enrique Iglesias concert in Pune on Wednesday have alleged that they were beaten up by the police when they tried to stop guests of ACP VT Pawar from entering the concert venue without passes. According to the organisers, six people were beaten up.

Among the people who were beaten up was the CEO of bookmyshow.com Ashish Hemrajani. However, according to the police they were trying to manage the crowd at the concert and that they were trying to stop the big crowd entering the venue without being subjected to checks.

The police also claims that many of them were drunk. Pune witnessed blasts a few months back and hence when the police tried to reason with the organisers why there was no proper security arrangement, they entered into an argument. And the ACP was told to go away. When the youngsters tried to rush in without getting themselves checked, the police had to use mild lathicharge.
