Chandigarh: A country-made liquor brand named after popular Aamir Khan starrer Rang De Basanti was withdrawn by the Punjab Government from the market on Thursday, two days after it was launched due to protests by supporters of martyr Bhagat Singh.

Expressing regret over the naming of the liquor, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal ordered immediate withdrawal of the spirit from the market.
Punjab's Excise and Taxation Commissioner S S Brar also regretted the name given to the liquor brand and put the order in force with immediate effect.
The company is withdrawing nearly 4,000 bottles of the brand from the market.
