New Delhi: In what may prove to be a major embarrassment for the Punjab Police, IG Prisons Jagjit Singh was caught on camera bowing before former Akali minister Bibi Jagir Kaur who is in jail for forcible abortion of her daughter.
Ironically, IG Jagjit Singh had been given the task of investigating the alleged VIP treatment being given to the former SGPC chief in jail.
But he was seen standing before her with folded hands and honoring her with a religious scarf in prison.
Jagjit Singh had earlier given a clean chit to the jail authorities after conducting a probe on the "VIP treatment" to her. But his report was sent back and a fresh probe was set up.
Jagir Kaur is undergoing five-year rigorous imprisonment for forcibly conducting the abortion of her daughter Harpreet Kaur.
