Om Puri apologetic, Kiran Bedi defiant for remarks on MPs

CNN-IBN

New Delhi: After the outrage over his remark on politicians, actor Om Puri apologised on Sunday for the kind of words that he used. The actor had in a speech at Ramlila Maidan attacked politicians calling them illiterate, rustic and useless.

Puri's apology came during a discussion on the channel 'IBN 7'.

"I am unhappy with myself over two of the terms that I used. The first is 'uneducated' and the second is 'useless'. I agree I could have used better language, but I was caught in the moment and so used those terms," Puri said.

However, after her controversial act at Ramlila Maidan where she made fun of politicians, social activist Kiran Bedi remained defiant and said that she will not apologise.

She praised the BJP for its role in the Lokpal Parliament debate. She said that BJP leader LK Advani changed his stand after speaking to her and that Advani's speech was the gamechanger. But she added that she won't be joining any political party in future.
