New Delhi: For the last fourteen years the two-day Qutab Festival held against the backdrop of the historical Qutab Minar, has been giving the Delhi a musical entrance into the festive season and pleasant weather ahead.
This time around, however, they had a special treat in store with the popular music composer trio Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy performing at the finale.
So while Dandiya sounds were at their peek in most parts of the Capital on Sunday night, the Qutab festival had a different tune in mind.
For the first time in fourteen years they decided to experiment with mainstream pop. So no surprise, Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy got the Capital on its feet in no time as they belted out the stuff that the recent Bollywood memory lane is made of.
"For us, the Delhi audience has always been special because they come in large numbers and really enjoy the performance,” said Mahadevan.
While Delhi is usually used to seeing film stars lip sync hits made by the trio, it was a refreshing change to see them bring to life the long list of songs that have made them one of the most consistent composers in the industry.
With their latest venture Don doing the rounds these days, the road ahead seems quite merry.
