Rahul Gandhi takes charge as Congress vice president, refuses to take questions

New Delhi: Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday officially took charge as Congress Vice President but in spite of addressing a press conference declined to take any questions. At the Congress headquarters, senior party leaders lined up to greet him after an AICC meet. In a very short statement after the meet, Rahul while addressing the media said that he will avoid negative politics and instead concentrate on positive things.

Refusing to interact with the media, Rahul gave a brief statement and said, "I do not want to get into negative politics. Only positive politics is going to take this country further. I want to use Congress as an instrument to bring about change in the country."

Rahul also refused to comment on the Justice Verma panel report and said, "This is my first day in office and I do not want to get into specific details."

Rahul while addressing the media said that he will avoid negative politics and instead concentrate on positive things.

He has always been criticised for not interacting much at a public level and has been under fire from the Opposition for choosing to remain silent almost all major issues facing the country including, corruption, FDI and the Delhi gangrape case.
