Guwahati: Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi is likely to visit Kokrajhar, Chirang and Dhubri, the three violence-hit districts of Assam, on Tuesday.
A senior leader of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) confirmed this Saturday and added that Congress leader Digvijay Singh is likely to accompany Rahul Gandhi on his visit.
Violence between Bodos and Bengali speaking Muslim settlers in the districts have so far killed over 90 people and displaced over four lakh people.
"Rahul Gandhi will visit some of the areas of the Kokrajhar, Dhubri and Chirang on Tuesday to take stock of the relief and rehabilitation measures adopted by the state government for the violence hit people in the three districts," said the APCC leader.
Earlier, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had visited the violence affected areas of Kokrajhar July 28 and announced a financial assistance Rs 300 crore for immediate relief and rehabilitation for the three districts.
AICC chairperson Sonia Gandhi had also visited the violence affected areas of Assam on August 13.
