Mumbai: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Friday justified the police encounter of Rahul Raj, a Bihari youth, in a BEST bus.
Addressing a press conference, at the MIG Club in Bandra for the first time after a gag order imposed on him, was eased by the police, Raj Thackeray said in Rahul's case police had taken an appropriate action considering the situation.
He said that when the shootout took place, police had no idea as to which state the youth came from and added that the issue is being over politicised.
"There was an incident of four Marathi boys being pushed out of train, no one took up the incident then, then why is this issue being politicised," Raj asked.
In Patna, Rahul Raj's sister expressed her anger for Raj Thackeray's divisive politics and blamed the MNS chief of playing a dangerous political game.
"No one listen to us. When Bihari politicians like Lalu Prasad, Ram Vilas Paswan and Nitish Kumar speak on the issue then everyone shouts that they are politicising the issue. Raj Thackeray is saying the same thing in his press conference. He is only interest in his politics and votebank and he can stoop to any level. He is a political terrorist. He should be put in a jail," she said.
