“One should never write off people who are novices. They prove themselves in time and my brother will. Mulayam Singh should be careful of that,” said Priyanaka.
The party is hoping that bringing in Priyanka into the campaign will boost its chances. Her roadshow will cover both Parliamentary seats, considered the fiefdom of the Nehru-Gandhi family. Congress president Sonia Gandhi represents Rae Bareilly while her son Rahul is the MP from adjoining Amethi.
In the battle for Uttar Pradesh now-Priyanka Gandhi hit the dusty streets of rural Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, aggressively campaigning for brother Rahul Gandhi.
Speaking at a campaign function for a Congress candidate in Salon, Priyanka said that Rahul should not be underestimated as a politician. Appealing to people to strengthen the hands of Rahul and help him in fulfilling his mission, Priyanka said he always thinks about his constituency and whenever she meet him he would discuss about various development schemes in the area.
