Shimla: The eight edition of Maruti Suzuki Raid-de-Himalayas was flagged off on September 30. It is India's most adventurous and strenuous motor sport event.

The eighth edition of the annual event attracted 100 entries, including 30 in the 'X-treme' category, 34 in amateur and 36 bikers but only 92 were flagged off from Shimla.

Spread across seven legs, the rallyist passed through some of the world's most highest mountain passes where temperature dips as low as minus 20 degree and splendid valleys.

In seven days, the participants travelled through Manali, Kaza, Dhanker, Gramphoo, Patseo and Leh before the rally culminates at Manali on October 7.

The professionals were participating in 'X-treme' category; amateurs competing in the 'Reliability' segment while others in the two-wheeler category.
