Railway train drivers worship elephant

Jalpaiguri (West Bengal): After four elephants of West Bengal's Jalpaiguri district were killed on being hit by the train, railway trains drivers in the district worshiped an elephant.

Forest department sources say the train drivers worshipped the elephant so that they could seek divine help in preventing any further elephant deaths.

The four elephants who died belonged to Buxa Tiger Reserve in Jalpaiguri district. Buxa, which was set up in 1983 at the northeastern corner of West Bengal, serves as an international corridor for elephant migration between India and Bhutan.
