Mumbai: Raj Thackeray, the leader of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, is back in full force with his Marathi manoos agenda.

On Saturday evening, he celebrated the second anniversary of his Sena by holding a rally in Shivaji Park.

He made a fiery speech, lashing out at North Indians and many North Indian leaders - from Lalu Prasad Yadav to Amar Singh - no one was spared. He even dared the state government to arrest him.

Raj said, “They say Raj Thackeray should bathe in the Ganges that they will celebrate Chath pooja right outside my house. I challenge them to come and do it and I shall also make sure that they are sent back.”

Maharashtra Navanirman Sena's (MNS) rally which was held to commemorate second anniversary of the party attracted crowds in large numbers. But Raj failed to take up any new issues or a fresh agenda.

In his 45-minute speech Raj blamed the media for blowing some issues out of proportion.

“I request all the news channels, that instead of showing me again and again please show the true situations in Maharashtra to those North Indians in Delhi. Let them know what is happening,” he added.

Raj said that the human rights commission had sent him one notice but he would not care for it. He dared the Government to arrest him.

Raj said, “In this state only Maharashtra Diwas will be allowed to celebrate other states' celebrations will not be allowed and for this if the state government wants to arrest me then let them go ahead and arrest me.”

The MNS leader also claimed that Dr B R Ambedkar has also spoken about the pride of Maharashtra and the need to protect the rights of the Marathi speaking population.

Raj Thackeray's speech is expected to once again rake up a huge controversy in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra CM Vilasrao Deshmukh told reporters in Kolhapur that Raj’s speech would be investigated.

”Action would be taken on Raj Thackeray after investigation on the speech given in Shivaji Park,” the Chief Minister said.
