Raj Thackeray takes on Yadavs on women's bill

CNN-IBN

Mumbai: After a brief lull, Raj Thackeray led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena is back in news for all the wrong reasons. Just days after it's partymen were arrested for allegedly trying to extort money from a Bollywood producer; the party is back targetting political heavyweights.

The MNS has now come out with a provocative poster targetting RJD chief and former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and Janata Dal (United) leader Sharad Yadav for their opposition to the women's reservation bill.

The MNS, which is in favour of the bill, has threatened these leaders suggesting they were endangering Marathi pride as well as trying to stop opposing the landmark legislation. The MNS poster mocks the Yadav trio and asks them to learn how to respect women, from MNS. It also warns that otherwise MNS would teach them a lesson.

Earlier, indirectly pointing towards Lalu Yadav, Raj Thackeray had said that the party tickets should not be given to the wives and daughters of politicians.

"The MNS fully supports the women's reservation bill. But I have one request, that power should be exercised by the women themselves, not their husbands"

The release of the politically provocative poster comes in sidelines of Marathi New Year Gudi Padwa.
