Mumbai: Raj Thackeray's party the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena celebrated its fourth anniversary on March 9.

Addressing a rally of MNS workers in Mumbai, Raj sounded more confident but not as aggressive as earlier.

He sounded confident because of the success in Assembly elections but less aggressive and very cautious because of the recent Supreme Court reprimand against making hate speeches.

"We have to concentrate on enlarging the base of MNS. We are going start a new member registration from today all over the state," said Raj at the rally.

The usual sting his speech was clearly missing and the celebrations also seemed low key, mainly because of legal restrictions.

Raj also commented on the issue of Women's Reservation Bill.

"I support women's reservation but politicians should not be passing on constituencies to their family members," he said.

For a party that has thrived on aggression and rhetoric since day one, toning down is a new exercise.

But with courts breathing down Raj's neck, the party will have to get used to the restrictions.
