Jaipur: It started with Margaret Alva and Yogendra Makwana in the Congress but has spread in a big way to the BJP in Rajasthan.
Two sitting BJP MLAs demonstrated against alleged sale of tickets for Khetri and Phulera
Bharatpur MP Vishwendra Singh quit not just from Lok Sabha but also from the party as his wife Divya Singh was denied the Deeg ticket in favour of Vasundhara Raje's loyalist, Digamber Singh.
Former minister Kirori Meena too is unhappy and so is State Health Minister and Bhairon Singh Shekhawat's son in law Narpat Singh Rajvi for getting a ticket from Chittor and not from Jaipur.
The BJP says these are all in the game.
“The same people who're staging protests now will soon be seen raising slogans in support of Vasundhara Raje and the BJP,” says BJP spokesperson, Prakash Jawadekar.
Both the BJP and the Congress say they would soon get over the problem of disgruntled ticket seekers
“Congress will not get demoralised, when people's personal interests get compromised upon they talk like this,” says PCC President, Jaipur, CP Joshi.
If the embarrassment wasn't bad enough, the dissidence is now set to translate into loss of votes. What's giving the BJP as much as the Congress sleepless nights is the fact that most of the dissidents are now all set to take on their parties in the upcoming Assembly polls.
