Jaipur: The decision to move the Sikar gangrape survivor to AIIMS in Delhi has been put on hold by doctors at the JK Lone hospital in Jaipur. The family of the survivor says it has not been consulted by the doctors over the decision to shift her.
The 11-year-old girl has undergone five surgeries since she was gangraped in August 2012. Police have arrested the two men accused of raping the girl, but the family is still waiting for the trial to start.
The Ashok Gehlot government in Rajasthan had assured all possible help to the girl and her family when the case came to light, but her family is still fighting for justice.
The girl was gangraped by five men in a jeep on August 20, 2012 and left injured badly. Two of the accused have been identified as Suresh Kumar Jat and Ramesh Kumar Sharma. Both of them belong to influential families which are involved in the business of stone crushing and tiles.
