Jaipur: The Ashok Gehlot government is now facing legal pressure on the issue of missing Dalit nurse, Bhanwari Devi. The Jodhpur bench of the Rajasthan High Court has issued a notice to the state Home Secretary, Jodhpur Inspector General and Jodhpur (Rural) Superintendent of Police on a habeas corpus petition filed by Bhanwari Devi's husband. The next hearing of the case is on September 22.
Notices have also been sent to Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) contractor Sohan Lal, who is believed to be close to state PHED Minister Mahipal Maderna and is being questioned by the police.
Bhanwari Devi went missing after a controversial CD showing her and Maderna surfaced.
Her family fears she was abducted and murdered on the instructions of Mahipal Maderna.
The police are now on the lookout for two men with a criminal background - Shahbuddin and Baldev.
The minister is yet to be questioned in the case which is now being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
