Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has now ordered a probe after a sting by IBN7 showed that sandstone mining licenses were given to his family members at throwaway prices. The exclusive report on mining license irregularities in Rajasthan was aired on Wednesday. The report showed how most of the 37 sandstone mining licenses were given to the CM's family members.
The CM has ordered a probe into all allegations of favouritism, albeit dismissing them as baseless and wrong.
However, the opposition BJP is in no mood to relent and are demanding Gehlot's resignation.
The matter reached Parliament as well. The BJP gave a notice for discussion on the issue which was rejected in the Rajya Sabha. The party will give the notice again on Thursday.
