Jaipur: The new face of terror, alleged Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, that shocked the country a month back now has a new ally in Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.
Sadhvi Pragya Singh may have little to do with Rajasthan but that doesn't stop Raje from bringing up the Sadhvi issue on her campaign trail and telling people to keep those who're torturing her out of power.
“In the Congress what's being done with the Sadhvi is no secret. There can be no bigger insult to womankind than this sort of shameless treatment being meted out to women when each of you women will empower herself by putting a seal on the lotus that's when it'll be fun,” says Chief Minister, Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje.
Vasundhara Raje is not just known to keep the Sangh, its ideology and the RSS backed faction in her cabinet at an arms length but has also been seen as the only man in her cabinet for the last five years.
However, now with elections round the corner, Raje finds herself attacked by the opposition on charges of corruption and so she is falling back on the woman card to take them on.
“And now they're trying to point fingers at us, why? Just because I'm a woman is that why they want to start with character assassination,” adds Vasundhara Raje.
Vasundhara Raje would rather have everyone around her make no mistake about who wears the pants, but with elections soon approaching, she's not just playing the vintage woman but also toeing the Hindutva line.
