Vasundhara Raje has refused to step down from her post of leader of opposition in Rajasthan as instructed by Rajnath.
Rajnath blames Vasundhara for party's debacle both in the Assembly elections as well the Lok Sabha elections while Vasundhara blames infighting within the state unit.
So now its come down to an eyeball-to-eyeball confrontation between the two.
BJP legislator and Raje's loyalist Rajendra Singh Rathore said, “Vasundhara Raje is the leader of opposition and will be the leader of opposition and not just that she's also the leader of the ordinary people in the state and we are completely in support of her.”
Just 24 hours back, It was leader of the Opposition, L K Advani who was unwilling to step down from his post as the Leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha as desired by the RSS.
All these feuds are reflective of a larger power tussle that’s on within the BJP. Up for grabs is prominence within the party in a post Advani-Vajpayee era.
Rajnath views Vasundhara as an Advani loyalist. With Advani and Vasundhara both at their weekest ebb, It was Rajnath's turn to strike at Vasundhara.

While Raje has made up her mind to take on the party bosses, her detractors within the party too are all set to make that into a case of indiscipline against her as well. But just days before the BJP's Chintan Baithak (introspection session) in Shimla, the timing of trouble couldn't have been worse for Vasundhara Raje.
