Rajasthan: Rajesh Pilot's statue damaged, protests erupt

Kotputli: A statue of former Union minister and Gujjar leader late Rajesh Pilot was damaged in Kotputli on Saturday evening, sparking protests by members of the community.

"Rajesh Pilot's statue in LBS government college was broken by some unidentified miscreants," DSP Alok Singhal said.

Enraged over the incident, a large number of youths and members of the Gujjar community staged protests demanding immediate arrest of the culprits, he said.

The protesters, chanting slogans denouncing the incident, called for a shutdown on Sunday in Kotputli town in Jaipur district.

Tension ran high in the town where additional police were deployed to maintain calm.
