But many wonder how the star is behind the screen. Rajinikanth’s wife tells more about the actor, husband and father.
“In his early years he didn't have much time to be really literally be there because he was shooting everyday day and night but at every stage whenever he could be there he's been a father, a friend and tried to give his experiential knowledge to the children,” says Rajinikanth’s wife Latha Rajinikanth, who is also an educationalist.
Even though he might be a superstar with a huge fan following-is national recognition still elusive for an actor of his stature?
“However, all of us down South do feel that the kind of recognition the artistes here should have got right from Shivaji sir to Nagesh sir - people who have already left this planet - right upto today, I think South needs to be recognized. For eg. Mullum Malarum should have got national status award,” says Latha.
While his fans and family believe that Rajinikanth will make a good politician-is the star planning a career in politics?
“He's a wonderful leader as such, I know that he's got leadership material, but he always waits for that one call-which he has to take. And I think if he gets that call, he'll answer all your questions,” says Latha.
