Mumbai: The Mumbai police have banned assembly of five or more people in the city from December 5 to December 19 saying they cannot risk security.
Police say rallies and procession will not be allowed during the period, as they fear inflammatory speeches may endanger in the security. According to the police, the ban will not apply to weddings, funerals or other family ceremonies.
Last week, terrorists attacked the Taj Mahal Palace and the Trident-Oberoi - two of Mumbai's best known luxury hotels - and other landmarks in a 60-hour frenzy, killing 171 people, many at the hotels, where scores were held hostage.
