New Delhi: Union Health minister Dr Anbumani Ramdoss thrives in controversies.
And the latest one is about the Delhi media, which he believes is the main cause for all the negative publicity he is getting. He made it public at a programme in Chennai on Monday calling the national media in New Delhi, castiest.
He has been facing media flak over the AIIMS in Delhi and the recent nation wide strike by the junior doctors.
The national media in the capital is not amused. And the Editors Guild of India doesn't approve of the health minister's comments.
"When everything fails, people go back to their caste,” says Gen Secy Editors Guild of India - New Delhi, K S Sachidanandamurthy.
Even in his home state some journalists don't buy Ramdoss's argument.
"He is making a mess of everything,” says Noted Journalist - Chennai Z, Cho Ramaswamy.
The Health Minister has courted several controversies ever since he took charge three and a half years back.
Many of them have been a source of huge embarrassment to the UPA government. The latest salvo by the beleaguered Ramdoss is perhaps a belated attempt to gain sympathy in the name of caste.
