Telugu actor Rana Daggubati’s foray into the Tamil film industry might have been delayed, but it is definitely happening.
The suave actor was initially supposed to appear in an important role in director Vetrimaran’s Vada Chennai, but he later opted out of the project as he was not comfortable with one aspect in it.
While Vada Chennai has been put on hold, rumour has it that Rana will be seen in Ajith and Vishnuvardhan’s untitled flick.

It seems to have become a trend of sorts in Kollywood to rope in a Telugu actor to play a prominent role in order to market the film in Tollywood as well.
Mostly recently, the makers of Thaandavam roped in Telugu actor Jagapathi Babu. Sources have confirmed that Rana has been approached, but no confirmation yet.
Rana, who made his debut with Leader in Telugu, has been part of two Bollywood projects — Dum Maaro Dum and Department. Since Vishnuvardhan is a popular name in the Telugu industry with Panjaa to his credit, it’s likely that Rana has given the nod to debut in Tamil with Ajith’s film. Actor Arya is part of the project, with Nayanthara and Taapsee Pannu are playing the female leads.
The film marks the return of the Billa combo of Ajith, Nayanthara, Vishnuvardhan and Yuvan Shankar Raja, and Ajith has shed seven kilos for his character. Ajith is said to play a middle-aged protagonist.
