New Delhi: Fresh-faced and media-friendly in a way only newbies in Bollywood can be, Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor showed up in the Capital to promote their debut film Saawariya, which opens the same day as Om Shanti Om.
But aren't Shah Rukh Khan's six-pack abs giving them sleepless nights?
“The fact that this is our debut is giving us sleepless nights. We can’t compare to Shah Rukh Khan,” said Ranbir.
Both Kapoors agree that the USP of Saawariya is its director who could spot the talent through the extra layers.
“He said you are 80 kilos, but you are beautiful and you’ll my heroine,” says Sonam.
And this offer would have gone to waste had Sonam been married off.
“My parents know I'll be married in a couple of years, so they are fine with me acting as of now,” says Sonam.
And as if to balance the risk of having debutants as its lead actors, Saawariya also stars Rani Mukherjee and Salman Khan.
“It was good acting with them, but they are all well-etched characters,” says Ranbir.
They might be freshers, but they sure have their diplomatic responses down pat!
