Mumbai: Bollywood actor Rani Mukerji's brother Raja was arrested in Versova on Sunday after a small-time television actress accused him of molesting her. According to the victim, the incident happened when she had gone to meet Raja to narrate a script.
The police said that Raja tried to molest the starlet in his car. "The woman had gone to show Raja Mukherjee a script. He tried to molest her in the car," said ACP Narsingh Sherkhan.
He said that following her complaint, Raja was sent for a medical test and then taken into police custody. He is currently lodged in Andheri jail. A case under section 354 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against him, said sources. He will be produced in court on Monday.
