KOCHI: Providing a ray of hope to men suffering from Azoospermia, Bourn Hall Clinic performed the first Microscopic Testicular Sperm Extraction (Micro TESE) in India at its clinic here.
The Micro TESE procedure is expected to fulfill the aspirations of nearly one lakh childless couples in Kerala. Globally, one per cent of all the married couples suffer from the Azoospermic condition, wherein the male partner has no measurable level of sperms in his semen. The treatment has a success rate of 30 per cent when compared to the 6 per cent success rate of the earlier Macro TESE procedure, said Dr Pravin Kini, CEO of the clinic.
The clinic has also launched a site, www.azoospermia.bournhall-clinic.com, to help patients gain proper information about the available treatments.
